A Bit About Me:I’m a Black, Queer, Oakland-based doula who’s welcomed many babies and held space for families over the past 11+ years. My clients are people with hopes, dreams, fears, and questions about their birthing experience (even if they’ve done it before) — and together, we navigate the journey to the other side.I see my role as a doula of the family — centering the person giving birth while including partners, aunties, friends, or whoever's in the room — so that we move as a team in bringing forth new life. In this spirit, I don’t “replace” anyone; rather, I support partners every step of the way, helping them show up confidently for you and for themselves throughout labor and beyond.Along with years of hands-on birth work, my approach is rooted in traditional birthing practices and informed by studies in herbalism and functional medicine — weaving ancestral wisdom with current practices to offer integrated care that supports the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.I have extensive experience supporting births at home and in hospitals, from unmedicated and low-intervention births, to higher-risk, augmented, induced, and medicated labors. I’m fluent in the full spectrum of care options and work closely with families to co-create informed, intuitive plans that balance evidence-based education with deep trust in the body’s wisdom. As an advocate for people birthing in hospitals and beyond, our prenatal sessions blend birth visioning and planning, childbirth education, and practical coaching on how to navigate options and communicate effectively with your care team. Most importantly, I want you to feel empowered to craft your birth as a ceremony — one that reflects your values, instincts, and intentions, free from judgment or outside opinions.Your birth, your way, with Jewel of the Bay.
